Exactly, you mean, symbolically? I don't use Matlab myself, but after
googling around, it seems that Matlab's int function does a symbolic
evaluation of integrals.

I don't believe Octave has such a feature. You could try using Axiom
or Maxima for that sort of purpose. Or if you want to have it all in
one place, try SAGE, which can interface with Octave and Maxima at
once (I'm not sure if it does Axiom too):
