Time domain system simulations

Dear All,

I'm new to octave and want to use this tool
for doing time domain system simulations like
the one you can do with simulink. Unfortunately
I do not know where to start and could not find
any information/example on the internet.
     Who can help me getting started? Any help
is appreciated: links, documents, examples, etc..
