I spent a lot of time recently moving code from octave-forge to octave,
including interp1 and interp2. See that threads "merging functions from
octave-forge" and "More octave-forge functions!!!" on the maintainers
list and in particular the second thread where what remains to be done
is discussed, and the reasons I didn't port these functions yet.
