parser creation

Hello,
Does anyone know where the syntax description files are at (in the cvs) that 
were used with Bison to create the parser for octave?  Maybe someone could 
also describe what other files are necessary and what is the flow to go from 
that point to the final parser (in c I assume).  I am probably going to redo 
some of this work to get the parser in java, but I would like use whatever 
work/learning has already been done here.  Thanks!
