Hi,
In my directory containing octave-related documentation, I found
a file called Dalitz_octave-4up.ps.gz, which contains slides from
a talk given by Dalitz (in German), and can serve as an
introduction to the matter. I don't have his address. Maybe you
can find it in the archives. If not, I can send you a copy.
Octave strives to be, and, except for the graphics, is very similar
to Matlab. You can take any introductory tutorial for Matlab (I
assume one can easily find such a thing in German, on the net)
and try to work your way through it, at the octave prompt.
You do not mention what operating system you are using....
Cheers, Avraham
