Configure of Octave-2.1.73 does not detect hdf5 library.

 Hello,

I am trying to compile octave-2.1.73 on a Slackware
10.2 system. I have installed hdf5-1.6.5. But when I
run configure, it does not detect hdf5 libraries.

I did not have this problem with octave-2.1.72 on the
same system.

Any pointers?
