I had similar problems under MinGW on windows as MinGW, unlike cygwin,
isn't posix compliant. My soution was to create a glob/fnmatch library
in libglob and install it. I sent John a patch which is in 2.9.4 and
later to search for glob and fnmatch in libglob as well as in libc. You
