Cool, thanks very much. I guess that I just didn't think it would be so smart. I guess I shouldn't doubt octave's abilities.

Octave can't take that much credit. The first few lines of oct-sort.cc read

Its one of the advantages of open-sorce/free-software in that we are free to share good code between projects.
