I grabbed the latest CVS version from sourceforge (finally).

My std2 works now, but writing is still an issue.

octave:10> [I] = jpgread('/home/skinkie/public_html/webcam.jpeg');

octave:13> jpgwrite('/home/skinkie/public_html/test.jpg',J,50)

So I guess the problem is partly solved now. But the writing is still an
open end.
