Compile 'oct' file to replace MatLab mex |

I have the C source code file from which a MatLab mex
file was compiled. Is it possible to make an oct
file from this for Octave? The manual says that it
compiles C++, and needs a wrapper for other
languages.
Your help would be appreciated.
