Jorge,
These are technical terms in signal processing. It is almost certain that
there are already terms for this in the language you are translating to
(Portuguese ?). You would consider conferring with specialists on signal
processing (any electronic engineer should do) speaking your language
rather than trying to invent a new term. It is in fact highly probable that
Portuguese speaking engineers will understand the English term "response
function" but will have no idea what you mean by your translation of it (or
they will find the translation very amusing). I know this is the case in
many technical articles translated to Hebrew by non-specialists (e.g. in
newspaper articles describing technical breakthroughs).
