Hi Eric,
I understand from your letter that your files are in a couple of
directories. 
Adding to G. McBain's answer: If these ale subdirectories of the
same node in the directory tree, you can just add this node,
followed by a double forward slash.
You can obtain a clear and detailed answer by typing: help -i
loadpath -at the octave prompt.
