I am not sure what the protocol is on this mailing list, but some of
the other open source mailing lists I'm on like new users to introduce
themselves. I am Eric Mesa, a soon-to-be graduate of Cornell
University in the USA. I will be obtaining my Bachelors of Science in
Electrical Engineering.

I am a semi-recent major advocate of open source software as a viable
alternative to closed source software, despite all the bunk MS says
about it being incapable of innovation. I began using Octave and
Scilab to avoid using Matlab with its ridiculous pricing!

I sign my messages with a GPG signature. I uploaded it to the default
server from KDE, your mail client should be able to retrieve it if it
handles GPG, If not, let me know and I'll see what I can do to fix that.

After graduation I would certainly be interested in helping the Octave
group with Spanish translations if they so desired.
