Fine. Let's end this one now.

The original post was a question about math packages: I helped out by
explaining some of the subtleties about GNU Octave.

Then, I ask, out of curiosity, if anyone knows about a FOSS alternative
to Mathcad and Mathematica. Then the excitement begins...

Joe tells me that I forgot to tell everyone what kind of computer I'm
using. This is annoying since this is besides the point. I asked about
a FOSS alternative, thus implying I'm using a computer that isn't
proprietary.

Then I get Francesco telling me about being nice in user groups. I had
already helped the original poster and I was just, possibly in an
off-topic way, asking about a FOSS alternative to the named packages.

And, to top it off, I get marked insolent by Hamish.

Sorry, will stop this now. I was just asking a simple question about a
FOSS alternative to Mathcad/Mathematica. I believe the ignorance lies
on those who don't following the threads.
