Hi,

I've tried to follow many links for the installation of octave on mac
os x 10.3.6,
the one at hpcsourceforge.net,
the one at
http://www.hmug.org/pub/MacOS_X/BSD/Applications/Science/octave/
but none works,
Then I suspect that /usr/local isn't on your path. Typing echo $PATH in
Terminal will tell you what it is. If octave starts if you type
/usr/local/bin/octave at the prompt, then that is the problem.
