Compilation fails

Hello,

I've try to compile octave 2.1.64 on my mac os X 10.3.6 with gcc 3.3. 
build 1671 from Apple and XL Fortran from IBM.

I've pass -fast option to the c and c++ compiler

I've got the following error when compiled the intepreter section :

make[4]: `DOCSTRINGS' is up to date.
make -C ../../scripts DOCSTRINGS
make[4]: `DOCSTRINGS' is up to date.
making arith.texi from arith.txi
make[3]: *** [arith.texi] Error 138
make[2]: *** [interpreter] Error 2
make[1]: *** [doc] Error 2
make: *** [all] Error 2

Help greatly appreciated
