P. S. The problems seems to complete without problems.

I'm running the MATLAB examples that go along with the Stearns and David
"Signal Processing Algorithms" book. So far almost everything has worked
"right out of the box" with the usual adjustment to relocate the plot
command after title, xlabel, etc. I'm working with octave-2.1.57 and
octave-forge under Mac OS X 10.3.6. The Stearns and David spalib routines
are stored in /usr/local/share/... beside the octave-forge routines, and, so
far, have been accessed by many routines without problems.

When I try an example I get:

octave:1> spa0904
sh: line 1: kpsexpand: command not found
sh: line 1: kpsexpand: command not found
*** malloc[892]: error for object 0xa5ad800: Incorrect checksum for freed
object - object was probably modified after being freed; break at
szone_error
octave:2>

The kpsexpand missing command error has been reported, and is apparently
harmless, but I have never seen the malloc error before.

Do I need to worry or submit a bug report?

Joe
