I've installed octave-forge under "Fedora Core 2" by following

Did you compile octave yourself, or you used one supplied by distribution?
To use octave-forge you need to compiled shared library of octave interpreter.
The Fedora's octave package does not have one.
When you compile it your self you need to provide --enable-shared to
configure script. (It might be default option in the later versions.)

the instruccions in the INSTALL file.
Can anyone give me a hand?
