I finally got around to trying to upgrade my workhorse octave-2.1.55 to
octave-2.1.57. I'm installing octave on a dual processor G5 Mac with OS X
10.3.5 and a g77-3.4 compiler that seems to be working properly. I have the
Xcode 1.5 update installed.

I configured with

$ FLIBS=-lg2c ./configure --enable-shared --enable-dl --disable-static

which seems to complete correctly.

I then run "make" and get the following near what appears to be the end of
the build process:

ld: warning multiple definitions of symbol _xerbla_
../libcruft/libcruft.dylib(single module) definition of _xerbla_
.framework/Versions/A/libBLAS.dylib(single module) definition of _xerbla_
ld: Undefined symbols:
Array<double>::transpose() const
/usr/bin/libtool: internal link edit command failed
make[2]: *** [liboctave.dylib] Error 1
make[1]: *** [liboctave] Error 2
make: *** [all] Error 2

Anybody got any suggestions or ideas? Thanks. If we figure it out, I'll add
the fix to ScaryOctave.
