Tutorials? Examples?

  I've looked through the Web site's Wiki, FAQ and the manual looking for a
tutorial or example programs. Are there any tutorials, HOWTOs or examples
available?

  Specifically, I want to use my 8x8 matrix as input, multiple the elements
in each row, take the 8th root, then normalize the resulting vertical
matrix. Do I need to put each step in a separate function that I create?
What do I read to learn how to solve my own problems with the power of
octave?
