I am typing plot (var1,var2).  Look at my previous post...

I really do not care if I see the plot on the screen; I just want to
create the .ps file.

You have to type "plot(var1,var2)" and the output will go to 
the ps file.

You also have to change the gset terminal back if you want to
see a plot on the screen after output.
