Source-Forge make failure under Red Hat 9

I get the make failure below for octave-forge-2004.02.12 under Red Hat 
9.  Could the version 2004-02-25.17 of texinfo be the problem?  I did not 
see any obvious problem in comms.tex, but then again I'm not familiar with 
texinfo typesetting. -- Julius
