In particular, any program that requires the use of "X11" requires
that you have a fully-functional X Windows server running. It is
possible to set up Cygwin to have & run this server ( I used to use it
frequently ), but unless you have that set up, you should not expect
your "x" programs ( i.e. "xterm &" ) to do much...
