fig export in color?

Hello,

while trying to export graphs in fig format with

        gset term fig color big thickness 2 fontsize 20
        gset output "bla.fig"
        replot

I only obtain monochrome figures.

Am I missing something obvious?
Did someone already succeed in creating color fid files?

Environment: octave 2.1.35, gnuplot 3.7, Debian woody
