Hi,
I'm fairly new on this wavelet stuff and need to do a DWT using a
daubechies wavelet (my first wavelet foray). I have a few questions:
Is there a free package that implements DWT and IDWT? (I found
libwaili for debian - but is there a port for Mac OS X?)
How do I construct a daubechies wavelet with 10 vanishing moments for
use with DWT or is there a good resource for learning how to do this?
I'm confused about what's a coefficient. I know that DWT yields a
series of coefficients and to produce a scalogram, you plot the energy
versus wavelet scale. My understanding is that energy is the sum of
the squares of the coefficients at each scale level, but don't I only
have one coefficient per scale level? I'm going to go to the library
today to read the daubechies '92 paper, so I may end up finding these
answers, but if anyone can explain it, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Rob
