I think this has to do with 2-byte characters. The unicode characters take 2 bytes each to accomodate more characters, I think. A solution for you might be to recompile or find a different version of the win32 version of stdc++ libraries.

Hi!

After I've installed Octave, (win 95) and then running it,
all text in dialog box appearred as "W e l c o m e..."
so, there is one space between all characters...
how to solve this problem (maybe fonts?)
