I was trying to compile octave-2.1.43 on cygwin and the compilation stopped
with the following error:

g++: ../kpathsea/SHARED/*.o: No such file or directory
make[2]: *** [liboctave.dll] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/octave-2.1.43/liboctave'
make[1]: *** [liboctave] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/octave-2.1.43'
make: *** [all] Error 2

FYI: I configured with --disable-static --enable-shared --enable-dl
