Package installation

Did anyone ever succeeded in installing a package for Octave on Windows 2000?

I have version 2.1.36

everytime I try a : install(".")
i get the 'filesep' error.
I change the script with : filesep = '/' and it still doesn't work.

Can anyone help me?
