While running 'make' when installing octave-2.1.35 on my
debian 2.2r4 box, I would repeatedly recieve some
compilation error and 'make' would exit. And everytime
it exited, I would just type 'make' again and the
compilation would then run smoothly until it hit
another 'hiccup.' So I just kept typing make and it
eventually compiled everything. And then 'make install'
went smoothly and it eventually all worked out.
Overall - I'm pleased that it eventually compiled and
installed okay. But I just thought this was kind of
wierd. Has anyone else had this problem? Is this
common when compiling from source? Can I expect
problems down the road when using octave seeing how the
compilation didn't go so smoothly?
Regards,
David
