indexing problems with 2.1.33 version

Hi, I am trying to reproduce the example under the title "index
expressions" of the manual:

a=[1,2;3,4]
a([1,0],:)

but instead of getting the first row as expected, it gives the error
message
error: invalid row index=0

so it seems that the program takes zeros as index numbers and no as a
selection criteria...

I have tried with prefer_zero_one_indexing=1, but it doesn't seems to be
the solution...
