Saving plots

I am new to Octave but familiar enough with MATLAB that I feel pretty at
home with Octave.  With MATLAB, I can cut and paste an image so that I can
save it with, for instance, Photoshop.  I presume some mechanism exists to
save plotted images to files, but I have been unable to find it.  Could
someone tell me what my best option is?
