If objects are added to octave I hope it is done in a much more elegent
manner than matlab.  Making objects map to subdirectories is a very bad
idea in my opinion.

i'm trying to port matlab code which uses the class function, along with
@ directories.  i'm guessing classes and methods are not supported in
octave (i get the error both with version 2.1.33 under win95 and 2.0.16
under linux.)  assuming that's the case, is there any work underway or
planned to add it?  thanks,
