Help:linking octave under Solaris 2.7

Subject: Help:linking octave under Solaris 2.7

I am using Solaris 2.7, gcc 2.95.1, and gmake 
Solaris 2.7 versions:
of /usr/ccs/bin/ranlib
and /usr/ccs/bin/ar

I need help on setting the flags for the final linking stage. It is
currently failing.
