I am having a strange problem.
I installed Octave for windows (the build from sourceforge.net).
While testing I was having problems with the environment variables correctly
pointing to the octave shell.
Octave could never find the .m files (for example). When I started octave in
interactive mode, I noticed
it said this was the most recent beta and if you wanted a more stable version
get it at sourceforge.net.
So, I thought it might be best to uninstall this version and install the more
"stable" version. I ran the
uninstall program that came with Octave and it deleted all the files and
directories. I downloaded
the stable version and installed it. This time nothing will come up, not even
the interactive window.
I noticed the installation never installed the /usr and below path files (which
includes all the m files).
When the installation was proceeding a cmd window popped up and a script was
running it kept saying
"out of environment space" and then some more but I couldn't read it fast
enough.
I am stumped. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing. It looks like the
uninstall did not get rid of
everything and left some registry entry or something.
HELP !!!!
Thanks,
Rick
