Octvave 2.1.30 for Cygwin and editors

I have a problem with the edit-run-edit cycle in Octvave 2.1.30 for Cygwin
(Weichmann's compilation): after running the script file (and perhaps giving
the command clear at the Octave prompt), then several texteditors cannot
save changes to the script file until I exit Octave. Textpad seems to work
fine, however. Any suggestions?
