Hi,
I recently tried FFTW ( www.fftw.org ) library. It
has a Matlab callable MEX C file.
I did a benchmark against Matlab's generic FFT
function on SGI Octane. FFTW is about 30~50% faster
and more accurate than Matlab's FFT. I am thinking if
this library replaces FFTPACK for octave, it will be
beneficial. Also, FFTW can be tuned especially for
Intel / Linux architecture.
Thanks.
