gplot with smooth, plot with structures

Hi Octave-Users

1. How it is possible to use the smoothing of gnuplot with the
gplot-command?

> gplot data smooth bezier

doesn't work.

2. Just my opinion:

Plotting with structures is a bit confusing.

gplot data.d1 with points 

doesn't work. But 

gplot (data.d1) with points

does. A hint in the documentation would be verry useful.
