configure error in 2.1.28 in redhat6.0, need help

Dear edd or octave programer:

 To recompile octave2.1.26, under redhat6.0, I meet the stalled situation 
around



ar rc liboctinterp.a dynamic-ld.o

then the compiling process stop there

where may go wrong?  an help is welcome and thanks in advance
