  Hello,

  I have a downhill-simplex function that I advertized on some           
octave-XYZ mailing list. It is sluggish though.

  I also have a bastard of Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm that I am
quite happy with. I mentionned it on octave-sources on 11/01/99.
