An engine for octave Followup

Hi, 

g) Another issue is whether to use pipe for the engine.

If pipe is used and matlab's engOpen is emulated like:
  Engine *ep = engOpen("octave");          
Then the question will be: 
  How can one extract the *_sym_tabs from ep ?

Since even the structure of Engine is hidden in matlab, I have no clue that 
matlab can somehow pass its symbol tables.


Any comments and help are very welcome.
