NaN and Inf in files

It seems that Octave refuses to read NaN and Inf's in files. For
instance it refuses to load this file:

The file was saved from Octave  itself.  If I  remove the Infinity and
put some number then it runs fine.

Is   this  a bug?  Should  I  send  a  full  bug-report?  Below is the
configuration as reported by bug_report.
