I have been using octave with
the ames patch to gnuplot for
a while now. I'm not particularly
pleased with the gnuplot graphics.
However, the single redeeming quality
that I have identified is the ability
to produce fig files from gnuplot.
This is particularly handy since I
can greate a graphic, export it in
fig format and use xfig to doctor
it up before exporting it for
inclusion in a document (via latex
for example).
I would encourage the use of 'fig'
compatible graphics packages with
any changes to octave's graphical
ability.
THank you
