Sorry for being importunate w.r.t. this, but just in case my question slipped
while more important
work was due: Is there any chance for a .TARGETS variable in the upcomming
release of make?

So how are the chances to see a .TARGETS variable in GNU make any time
soon? May it become a feature of V3.83 or have you dropped it entirely?
As I would very much appreciate such a variable, I'd be happy to offer
testing it.
