Thanks for your config.log.
There is nothing obvious going wrong, so now we have to dig a bit deeper...
Please edit tests/test-tounicode.c and change line 355 from
static int debug = 0;
into
static int debug = 1;
Then run 'make check' and send again your tests/test-suite.log.
