Sure :-) We always welcome volunteers along with the GSoC students.
Please come to the next IRC meeting, so we can discuss details.
I suggest you submit a proposal like for "real" GSoC (just post it to
bug-hurd@gnu.org), so we have a starting point.

It's usully more efficient to search for specific information as you
need it, while working on a specific task.
