Network not working

When I try "apt-get update", it doesn't resolves the names.
I used "settrans -fgap /servers/socket/2 /hurd/pfinet -i eth0 -a
192.168.45.148 -g 192.168.45.1 -m 255.255.255.0" and added "nameserver
192.168.45.1" to /etc/resolv.conf, as
http://www.debian.org/ports/hurd/hurd-install says. The host server
can ping the virtual machine.
When I was running "./native-install", I got this error message:
"dpkg: error processing netbase (--configure):
no package named 'netbase' is installed, cannot configure"
