writing device drivers in Java

Hi

Recently I read an article about writing device drivers in Java. http://research.sun.com/techrep/2006/abstract-156.html

And I think what if build-in JVM into Hurd kernel. This allows people to write device drivers in java and involve army of java programmers into Hurd development process.

This also could help to overtake Linux kernel.

This idea is also make sense because GNU already has java compiler and classpath library. As well as native Compiled Native Interface.
