   It simply halted during the boot of the system.

Sounds as a IRQ conflict.

   The latest version of HURD is 4 years old.

It is more like 10 years old actually, Hurd 0.2 and GNU 0.2 were
released in 1997.  The latest snapshot of the GNU system[0] is
2006-01-08, but don't let the date fool you, not much has happened in
that time to warrant a new build (sadly).  Your help would be most
apperciated though.

Since you had issues last time, you could try using QEMU just to play
around, that way you won't have to bother with resolving IRQ conflicts
and other annoying issues.

   What is realease plan for the future?

My crystal ball is foggy, maybe with your help it will become clearer.
