Hurd and microkernel changes

Hi,

Just wanted to get clarified.

How will the Hurd API get affected if a new microkernel is chosen for Hurd
eg. a Mach rewrite with a new api or L4.

Does this mean that we will have to rewrite/retweak the Hurd servers and 
translators
or specifically what bits of Hurd will need to be changed to suit the new 
microkernel?

I presume that the servers and translators use the Hurd core, which is the 
only thing
that will need to be changed?
