I'd like to get my Hurd partition booting again myself. I upgraded to an a7n8x nForce2 motherboard with some pretty fancy IDE controller chipset and old gnumach has failed me! Now I'm faced with reinstalling the cross-development environment, although I built the serial cross-debugger for my little Netwinder firewall/router/server so I'm ahead in that respect. My great reward for doing this is that when it invariably locks up on bootup, I will be able to trace up to the subroutine which is causing the problem and file a bug report here. Actually its kind of cool, and you will learn a lot about compiling gdb and cross compilers if you build the environment. I really should roll up a new gnumach2 kernel here and send in some feedback, but I've only recently left Woody behind and upgraded my main system to Sid. The Netwinder still runs Woody and I'll leave it like that until the next release, its mainly a packet tosser and it works great. Hehe I could probably use Bochs or something to run Hurd faster on this new system under emulation than it ran native on the PII 450's :-) Have fun, good luck! Miguel wrote:

Or you can try another computer, but there is probability that it will be signficantly more unstable than GNU Mach 1.Yes, I now :( The point is that I would like to play with the microkernel and, as far as I know, there is no development in version 1. Is this right? Only maintenance/bugs corrections, ...Regards -- Ognyan Kulev <ogi@{fmi.uni-sofia.bg,fsa-bg.org,jabber.net}> 7D9F 66E6 68B7 A62B 0FCF EB04 80BF 3A8C A252 9782
